Another choice for a combined messaging app…

…is Franz, which I’ve been using for quite some time. It’s not a Chrome extension like All-in-One Messenger, it’s an (Electron) app, running outside your usual browsers (and therefore not tying you to a specific one). It supports 30+ different messaging apps and protocols, including ones you probably use (Slack, Gitter, Skype, Discourse), ones you should be using (Wire, Telegram), and typically non-tech messengers (WhatsApp, Facebork Messenger, ICQ…). Even given that they’re both Electron apps, I’ve had far fewer problems with memory usage in Franz than people have commonly reported in the official Slack app.

Highly recommended by a dev who’s evangelised it into three orgs so far but has no connection to the app itself. (Oh, yeah, it runs on Linux and Windows as well as Mac).
