Health care is not a market and shouldn’t be treated as such. It must be understood that pharmaceutical companies as we conceive of them are not needed as the government can perform the job of basic research and then allow manufacturers to produce required pharmaceuticals for a reasonable profit. Mylan’s pricing is price-gouging and is criminal in that it actually does kill people due to its high cost and that is unacceptable at all levels. Capitalism has little to no room in health care.
