The Three Greatest Words You Could Hear At Your Moment Of Crisis
Sweat’s dripping off my face. My heart is racing, my muscles are pumped, fatigue is setting in, and in the back of my mind I hear, “I don’t think I can…”
When suddenly, a reverberating, “YES YOU CAN!,” comes from the front of the room, sending shock waves through me shattering my self doubt. (How did she know what I was thinking?)
Now, you may not know how good it feels to be told, “yes you can,” unless you’ve heard, and believed, the “no you can’t” lie all your life.
The three greatest words you could ever hear at your moment of crisis are, “yes you can.” And not from someone who is just saying it, but from someone who is living proof of it.
You should stop taking advice from someone who isn’t the slightest resemblance of who they are trying to tell you you can be.
Gina, said something else during class that really resonated with me. She said, “I can’t change you; only you can do that. But I can give you tools and the platform you need.”
No one can change your life but you. No one can add weight to your bar but you. No one can force you to push but you. But we all need those who have gone before us and made a way where there was no way, to look back, lend a hand, and pull us up through the hell they’ve already been through so we can accomplish our greatness too!
I don’t know what national day it is today, but I vote #national #fitness #instructor day. I give a huge shoutout, and some love, to — I don’t know her name but my legs sure do — Gina, for her exceptional example of fitness, leadership, motivation, and personal achievement.
It’s time to change. If not you, who? If not now, when?
