Our friend sent a picture of a dog to my partner. The dog apparently needed a new home.

Our friend knew what she was doing. She knew that once my partner saw the dog, she would fall in love with him. And she also knew once my partner looked at me with those puppy-dog eyes, I would be powerless to resist.
