Sean,

Actually we have owned a BBQ Restaurant for 9 years this past May so I really do know something about BBQ sauce. We make our own and while I agree there is a ton of brown sugar in our secret recipe we have never in the 9+ years we’ve owned the business have met anyone that puts 10 ounces of BBQ sauce on a meal. Our family meal deal that feeds four comes with 4 ounces of sauce so I’m just disputing the fact that you or anyone else would ever use 10 ounces of “real” BBQ sauce in a meal for one. Again we see around 400 people a week, 52 weeks a year for 9 years and we’ve never even seen anyone use that amount. The rest of your article my be correct but this one “unbelievable” fact discredits the entire story. Just my opinion. Now if you are talking about “store bought” BBQ sauce then say so otherwise this just becomes another “scare tactic” to drive people away from some delicious and homemade BBQ sauces that fuel business for small business owners such as myself.
