I didn’t realize she had already garnered so much love from the establishment. She looks like a rising star in the party, but this is sudden. I suppose they are hoping for another Obama — young, “out-of-nowhere” sparkling candidate. But even Obama had a little more national exposure. Well, the old pathways to the presidency are no longer the only way, that’s for sure. Harris has a lot of “curb appeal.” She has some glossy bullets on her resume. But she showed her true colors when she let Steve Mnuchin walk away from literally thousands of violations of foreclosure laws in California during the housing crisis. She is not going to stand up to the system, and the power players who control them. I wish I had your hope, but I think 2016 was the final call. And, really, it may very well have been over for us when Bush beat Gore in 2000. I don’t like anything I see in my crystal ball at all. The media and the Think Tanks, as well as the intelligence agencies, are all aligned against reform, so even if we got progressives elected in lieu of our current crop of sociopaths, I’m not sure there is enough time for civilization-saving systemic change. But back to the original point, Kamala Harris is certainly not the answer.
