True, but how many tens of millions of jobs have already been lost in the past several decades as a result of technological progress? Telephone operators are effectively nonexistent, to cite one of many examples. One of the major issues in the current presidential campaign is the extent to which free trade agreements have driven jobs either overseas or south of the border. I don’t see how AVs are any different in this respect. Yes, they will inevitably eliminate jobs, but as has been the case in the past, a host of new careers will be created to replace them (in most cases).
