Sure, I think generally making a ton of assumptions about people based on their gender is a bad way to treat them. Goes for both genders.
When you mix unfair prejudice with power, you get injustice.
I believe that it is true to say our history has created a society that still actively distributes power in men’s favor.
So in a lot of situations, men’s prejudice creates more obvious social injustice than women’s.
I think demonizing men and blaming them for everything is obtuse and sometimes unfair, sure. That being said, the specific type of rage and anger it has induced, like in some of these comments, to me points to something else going on. Something deeper than a simple reaction to this guy’s writing. Some part of some of these men is behaving as if it is being meaningfully and existentially threatened.
That’s weird to me.
