How To Put Some Love Back in Your Life (The Customizable Love Letter)

If you’re like me, and I bet you are, you love music. Music has its own soul, this intangible power to make us realize the good or the bad. If you enjoy music like me, I recently wrote a little-known fact about Paul McCartney’s disagreement with John Lennon about love songs.

A sad love song at best, Carole King had a #1 hit in 1971 called It’s Too Late. The song has a nice sound to it, but unfortunately, the lyrics are more than melancholy, a reminder of what happens when we overlook the most important relationship in our life:

And it’s too late baby, now it’s too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can’t hide
And I just can’t fake it
Oh, no

Whether your relationship needs a little spark or you are simply looking for a little something to let your partner know you are still in love with them, here is the ticket — a customizable love letter.

All you need is fill in the blanks (the X’s in this case), copy and paste it to the love of your life and may you have the outcome I did with my wife. She loved it!

Hey X,

I just wanted to take a few moments out of my day and let you know I’ve been thinking about you.

Do you realize it’s been X years, X months, X weeks, X days since we first met? And I’m thankful for every moment since then. Let’s be honest, it’s not always been perfect, but we already knew that going into our relationship, huh? It’s easy to say that we’ve had way more good days than bad days. And when I come home from one of those bad days, it’s your face I want to see more than anyone else’s.

As I close my eyes, I can still see X, where we met (or had our first date). If I recall, we X. You made me laugh when you said X and at that moment, I was secretly hoping you were the one for me. I guess I was right.

You know what I love about you the most? The way you X. Whenever you do that, my heart melts and I thank God one more time that you are mine and that I am yours.

The world’s a busy place. We’re both busy people. But I had to send this to you today, just for the mere fact that I wanted to make you smile. The imprint you have on my heart is like a tattoo, one that will never fade.

One last thing before I let you get back to your day. This weekend or whenever you choose, let’s go to X for dinner, just you and me. How’s that sound?

You’re always in my heart,

X

P.S. I love you.

Feel free to change up these words in whatever way you like. The most important part is that you just remember to sprinkle your relationship with the kind of romance you brought to it at the beginning. Keep it fresh. For best results, hand write the note to show how special your partner is.

As long as you follow this advice and the ideas posted on this site, there’ll never be a need to fake it.
