As we all know Facebook is slowly creeping up on Google as one of the top digital marketing platforms (if you didn’t know, now you do). It seems every few weeks they roll out another targeting option that helps you refine your audience. As of today they have rolled out there newest ad target criteria. Drum roll please..
You can now retarget/remarket people who have engaged with your Instagram!
Before you get too excited, there are a couple criteria you must meet before you can access this type of targeting.
1.) You must have an Instagram Business Account
2.) Have a Facebook Ad Account as well
If you have both of these already set up, then you should start seeing this as being available in your Ads Manager soon. We say soon, because Facebook has a tendency to roll updates out slowly. So, if you are not able to see this yet, dont sweat. It will show up soon.
Now lets dive into how you go about utilize this awesome new targeting feature.
Here is How To Retarget People Who Engaged With Your Instagram:
- Go to the Facebook Ad Manager page select the Audiences tab.
- Hit Create Audience and select Custom Audience.
- Select Engagement from the list of the custom audience types.
- Choose to create your new custom audience based on people who have engaged with your Instagram business profile OR who have watched your videos on Instagram.
To sum it up. THIS IS EXCITING! When it comes Instagram Marketing, or even Instagram Growth Marketing, this is a game changer. Think about all those people that view your content but never end up following you. Now you can hit them with a CTA to follow you, serve them a DR ad on that watch image they liked, and so on… Ohhh the possibilities.
