It is incredible that this article did not mention the SpaceX Dragon 2, or the Boeing Starliner, even though both should be up an running far sooner than the Orion. The Dragon 2 and Starliner are expected to make their first crewed launches in 2017 or 2018, whereas the first crewed launch of the Orion is not scheduled until 2021 at the earliest. Moreover, both the Dragon 2 and the Starliner are expected to be more capable than the Russian Soyuz, carrying between 6 and 7 people, as well as cargo, on every trip to and from the ISS.

At this point, the Orion is not expected to visit the ISS. Discussing the Orion and the Soyuz is a classic case of comparing apples and kumquats.
