9 Reasons Why You Probably Won’t Hire A Coach
1. You didn’t know coaching was even on the menu
Yup! The concept is simple: you invest in yourself via a coach and they supports, challenge and guide you in creating the exact results (business, relationships, health, etc) you’ve been unable to create on your own.
(And ideally, results the coach has already created for themselves and other clients.)
2. You aren’t ready to truly change your life
This is a harsh truth I have had to hear and see for myself many times. If you’re not ready, you’re not ready. There is no shame or judgment necessary. It’s just what’s true right now. know many people, including myself, who needed to hit their own version of rock bottom before they woke up and got HUNGRY. Or just readjusted their mindset to become ok with their current reality.
3. You’re not into personal growth
If you want some really big results in your life but aren’t willing to look at how your business impacts and is impacted by your relationship, your mindset, your health, your diet (and vice versa), you’re setting yourself up to lose.
Because transformation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Everything in your life is connected and you’re gonna need to look at it all to create a life that thrives.
4. You haven’t found the right coach for you
This can be a legit reason. You’ve got a find a coach who you can feel safe with and who also demonstrates that he or she knows what the fuck they are talking about. There are some really brilliant coaches out there (along with a lot of bad ones). But the ones that are good, are really fucking good. My life, relationships and business have been forever changed by the ones that I’ve hired.
5. You are too picky in finding the right coach for you
You are too picky in finding the right coach for you.
The flipside of number 4 is that you can twist it into an ongoing excuse to delay making a powerful decision.
6. You want a quick fix or magic pill
Six months or a year of coaching might not appeal to you because you are secretly hoping that it’s the next workshop you attend or book you read that will finally be the “one thing” that will finally “fix” you.
Two things:
- You aren’t broken.
- Insight and healing CAN happen in an instant.
But deep and sustained transformation, integration and implementation happens over time.
7. Coaching isn’t what you need
While I believe one-to-one coaching is one of the most powerful tools of transformation, it’s not the right fit or solution for everyone.
You might need therapy.
Or a mentor.
Or a community.
Or a plant medicine ceremony.
Or something else.
Coaching is a badass resource.
And it’s not the only one.
8. You think you need to do it alone
Yes, there is a certain pride in doing everything on your own. And there is also a certain inefficiency.
If you choose a path that requires you to do it ALL on your own and takes way longer to get the results you want, there’s nothing wrong with that.
It’ll just take longer, is all.
And you might fumblefuck your way a little more.
Or a lot more.
9. You think more information will save the day (and your life)
If more information was all anyone needed to create radical new results, then we’d all be fit, rich and in a great relationship. Information does not equal transformation. Information IMPLEMENTED gets you results. If you’re stuck on the implementation, that’s where a coach can help.
So there’s the deal on coaching.
It’s on the menu.
You don’t have to choose it.
But you also CAN.
