Jeffrey Yazwa -Tips for Graduating High School Students Entering College

Jeffrey Yazwa is an educator who truly believes that a good education is the key to having a successful future. He is a natural when it comes to educating in the classroom, and he has always enjoyed working with children. He began his teaching career in 1995, only a year after graduating from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education. His first teaching job was at Shumway Elementary School in Chandler, Arizona, where he worked for four years.

However, Jeffrey Yazwa isn’t just a teacher, he is also an entrepreneur in the educational field. He has been building his own business over the last few years called Advise & Guide LLC, which is geared toward helping graduating high school students prepare for college. He can provide advice as well as help them apply for the schools of their choice.

One tip he always gives to high school students about to transition to college is to practice time management. College is a big step in a person’s life because it isn’t just school, it’s often the first time people move out of the house and live on their own. The freedom can be great, but you can’t let personal time get in the way of school.

The next tip he gives students is to practice good note taking habits before going off to college. Taking notes in high school is important, but it’s essential in college. Make sure you can understand your notes, and develop a shorthand in order to copy things down more easily. Taking good notes will help you when it comes time to take an exam.
