This is how it’s supposed to be done, correct?
I want Energy East to get rid of the dangerous oil trains that snake through my neighbourhood every day and to expand this industry in a place where emissions and efficiency standards are highest so they can be diminished in other places where it’s not.
I also believe that if you want to bring on the advent of the post-fossil fuel world you need to attack demand, not supply (a message to all the environmentalists who drive and fly to their protests). This is happening but it’s going to take a while. I hope Energy East proceeds. And if it does, I want to trust that it has stood up to the most rigorous scrutiny.
This responsible approach is the only one I would expect for any government that represents me.
