Vulnerability and Intimacy
Vulnerability isn’t a high school play. What I mean is, vulnerability isn’t choreographed.
Sharing something that you’ve reflected on and considered is wonderful, and the world is better for it. That’s called intimacy. Vulnerability is something else. Vulnerability is dropping the rehearsal.
Experiment with this: Feel into the thing that is most embarrassing, contracting, intimidating to you now — find someone you care about — and just blurt it out, without wondering how it will sound. That’s opening yourself up.
See? No one runs away. You are loved, more so, for it.
