Musée des Arts Décoratifs

Orientation week has been quite relaxing and nice. As I’ve mentioned and will continue to, people are so incredibly cool.

I totally forgot to mention how last night I met up with my old friend Elsie and her new friends from her study abroad program. Elsie and I studied together in Boston at AIB in the summer of 2011. It was so great to see her after so long has passed and the 5 of us had a great dinner together at this restaurant near the Eiffel Tower.

Today our activity was a visit to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. This museum is located in an older with of the Louvre, which has since separated from the larger institution. We viewed an exhibition titled “Recto Verso”, which was based around the line between a graphic designers personal work vs. commissioned. My favorite pieces from the show were by a french graphic designer named Christophe Jacquet. I would recommend you look him up and when you are in Paris, stop by this museum. I will be returning in February for an exhibition on the history of buttons in fashion!

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
