There is of course an entirely different narrative! I think you’re quite right about Smith, but all that means is that the Labour Party is broken. Because despite your tagline about ‘electability’ the Labour Party is now an almost complete irrelevance.

It turns out that the people who have ‘frittered away the chance to improve the country’ (or even oppose the the Tories) are Labour Party members.
