How Are You Dealing With Past?

Hola Amigos,

How have you been doing?

If you ask me, it’s a task to think of the subjects to discuss about. On the one hand, there are like ten things I would want us to discuss, while half of them would not make sense.

Well! How was last weekend? Barbie or Oppenheimer? I went to Barbie and it was colorful and wholesome.

Have you ever occurred to this thought? How far have you come now? Where is even this life leading towards?

No, we are not getting philosophical and we are not going to put you in an existential crisis. We would try to understand history — our own history that has made us who we are right now.

Do you remember the very first self-realization — the moment or the phase you realized something about yourself, a habit or a characteristic and understood how did it take place in you over all these years?

These moments happen at different times with different people. Today’s generation is way way more aware and conscious about themselves, the way they talk, the things they believe in and, in general, the way they are.

However, the realization and understanding the past activities aren’t always wholesome. Some understanding will only make you will worse than ever.

There are always so many things happening around us within us, constantly changing that change us. They change us and we don’t realize that always. We realize this down the line and try to understand because some past requires healing.

If I talk about myself, I have been to different cities at different times, been involved with different people and worked with different people — all of these events have changed things internally, only to realize months, maybe years later.

Do you guys talk about it? Do you guys realize this?

  • How at the age of 12, you were sent away from home to study only to never return has made you a different person altogether?
  • How your ten years old relationship couldn’t have a longer run and you don’t know how to love another person anymore?
  • How you were always loved by your parents and friends and a heartbreak at 22 is killing you like anything?

These are just some hypothetical scenarios but it could be true for many of us.

All I am saying is to realize the change and talk about it.

Talk with people about why you are the way you are.

Talk about why you can’t trust a person easily.

Talk about why you cannot have a Sunday all alone by yourself.

Talk about why you are such a hopeless romantic like Ted Mosby and yet a mess like Barney.

Talk about your history because that has shaped your present.

At the same time, it is important not to cling to the past. We often feel alive and make ourselves comfortable with memories and feelings. It is important to address them and move forward.

On that historical note, let’s have some classic recommendations this week.

Hope this letter was as wholesome as it gets. The weather is driving crazy at many places across the country. Make sure you keep your body warm enough and hydrated.

I shall see you coming week! Till then, take care of yourself!
