About Me

Hello, my name is Jenalyn and I’m currently a student at San Francisco State University. I’m majoring in nursing and also, I’m minoring in business administration. Gun violence has been a huge issue within the community that I live in. I’ve always had a passion for social justice, and I believe there is a deeper concentration when it comes to gun violence. Gun violence has sparked the nation with mass shootings, homicides, and suicides. What I hope to uncover is the relations between gun violence and the depiction of mental illness in mass media. Will banning the “mentally ill” from purchasing firearms solve this issue? Or is it just instilling more fear into the hearts of Americans that mental illness is to blame for all the violence happening in America?
