As a girl nerd who learned 370 assembler in the 70s in order to make the mainframe do crap work that I knew it could do (and was tired of doing myself) I concur.
Tech today looks more like day care for adults; a high-paid navel-gazing walled garden that doesn’t advance anything but the ability of some arcanely skilled people to avoid the real world.
Tech has lost its creative lazy. Life is more fun when you get that back.
