A Strange New Planet: Week 3(Zodiac)

This Earth week strange omens presented themselves at every turn. I focused on my mission of righting the Mothership though my work of divination and cosmic counseling. The energy was high and new faces abound. Earthling José, a fellow celestial traveler, arrived to much fanfare and jubilation. He gave a wonderful and inspiring talk and left the inhabitants awestruck. Thus proceeded a parade of speakers in dizzying procession, powerpoint presentations strobing off of every surface. Sweet soft spoken Earthling Sara passed into my sector and sat for a Tarot reading. She spoke in a strange mathematical dialect almost like music and radiated a calm assurance.

Our meeting was interrupted by Earthling Alvin, balancing on his head an enormous tulip bulb full of intoxicating ambrosia. We laughed as he told thrilling tales of intrigues outside of The Mothership. We seldom thought of the world outside of The Mothership, and any news was enormously entertaining. Before I knew it, I found myself rolling on the floor laughing and then dancing an ancient dance from my home planet. When I awoke under my table in a stupor many earth hours later I found to my surprise that a strange creature had taken up residence among my meager belongings. It was feathered and had a odd protuberant beak, I later discovered it was in fact an Earth duck. It spoke many languages and was very learned and had an even greater innate psychic ability than myself. I inquired on it’s origins, but it was evasive in a duck like way.

Later, to its consternation, I painted the duck pink to match my table decor. A film crew arrived and wanted to interview the pink duck and wanted nothing to do with me. Earthling Natalia arrived after the film crew and sat for a Tarot reading. We laughed and talked for a long while, my head still spinning from Earthling Alvin’s ambrosia, and she presented me with a bar of chocolate which I accepted greedily(having subsisted on nothing but nectarines for the past four Earth days.) The pink duck sat watching us for a long time and then spoke in a somber tone “In the middle of great difficulty lies great opportunity.” I fed the duck some of my chocolate.
