Angel Intervention: Parking Spaces

I used to think it was silly to ask your angels for a good parking space.
Wow, of all the things you may want help with … I thought.
Yet now I understand why so many do ask.
We tend to do some of the same things every day.
We walk places.
We drive and park.
We are constantly moving.
And finding a parking space can be difficult, or at least a little annoying.
So getting some help is fun.
The problem I had was that it seemed to be a waste. Like you only have so many wishes from the genie.
Or, here’s a common argument from my friends and family:
If I ask, and get a good parking space, that means someone else won’t get that good space.
Now, that’s funny. I’m picturing someone constantly circling the lot:
Oh no, someone might come along who’s more deserving than me.
It’s a very kind thought. Yet it’s not really helping others. It’s the conditioning we’ve grown up with — that if we do well, someone else has to do without.
Sure, if you actually see someone trying to drive into a space and you can yield, then of course, do that. But most of the time
We are yielding when no one else is really there .
We’re taught to feel guilty.
When I finally was willing to break down and ask for angel help, it was so fun to see how things played out.
Once I prayed to get a space and as I entered the lot, someone was pulling out of a good spot, and no one else was around so — no guilt.
As I got closer I thought, Oh great I got the space with a pole. Yet as I pulled up, I saw the numbers 444 on the pole — angel numbers!
My friend who I met for lunch showed me her space after we left the restaurant. She asks her angels for parking, too. Her spot was even closer than mine. She didn’t get the 444 confirmation, though, like me.
Instead, on the ground by her car were rose petals.
We both stood in the lot laughing.
Go ahead and ask for a good parking space. Receiving is good. Enjoy it and be thankful. It’s the little things that make us smile.
