The atoms buzz against my skin and when I look up, I see you there, and the entire world around you stutterstops, spiraling into me and exploding into a supernova of vibrating pieces that don’t make sense anymore. Cascading about in a lazy float. Misshapen evidence of the world before. Before. Before.

Everything is blurred and distorted except for your face, illuminated by the impossible flood of light pouring out of me. I’m nothing but white-hot, irradiated energy. Pleading. Focused.

Then I blink it away, the pause lifts and the world falls back into chaotic motion. I glance down at my vibrating fingertips and wonder if anyone else noticed the entire universe be reborn in a one-second glance.
