After restarting and making my Macbook sleep, this started working — lovely!

Strange, though: if I select “show with clock” on the screensaver, I get the clock only when it is NOT sleeping. And cannot click anything under the clock. A bug in the Google Photos screensaver, I think!

Thanks for this. The photos are breathtaking and lovely as wallpaper.
