On Gym Clothes

I’ve bought more gym clothes in the last year than I can even keep track of. My favorite leggings are by Zella, which you can get at Nordstrom for a lot of money or at Nordstrom Rack for less money. I also really like Athleta but those are A LOT of money and hardly ever go on sale in the size/colors I like.

Tank tops: again, the Athleta Chi tanks are my favorite running tanks but are not good for yoga because they are lose & will expose all in downward dog. Also they are expensive. The best tank tops I have for yoga are from Marshalls because they are fitted. The GapFit breathe racerback is one of the softest tanks I’ve owned, workout wear or otherwise. Be warned though — they are very thin and therefore not very forgiving with any belly rolls. I just choose to ignore that though ;) They are often on sale for a reasonable price ($25ish) if you buy online, though I’ve requested the store match the online price if I happen to be buying in person.

My buying strategy is to never pay full price (duh) but also to stick to plain leggings (black for life) and mix it up with the tops, because those are usually more interesting to me anyway. Discount stores like Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc. are great for one-off items but are very unreliable if you love something and want to buy a second pair. They also have a lot of fitness equipment like weights, water bottles, yoga blocks, etc for good prices.

I know everyone swears by Target & Old Navy but I have not found anything there that fits me the way I want or feels the way I want, unfortunately.
