I didn’t realize who you are or who your brother was until I got to the middle of the article, then put it all together. My heart goes out to you. I’m a big fan of your brother’s work and was deeply saddened when I heard of his passing.

The one thing the internet could do is the thing it’s not doing: Bringing us together. We’re becoming desensitized at an alarming rate. The sick people of the world, and there are sick people in the world, have carte blanche to go off and ruin lives from the comfort and safety of their desk chair.

I was once told to kill myself after posting a recipe to my food blog. Let me reiterate: It was a *recipe*. This person signed up to get my blog posts via email, of their own free will. They got an email, read the post, hit ‘reply’ and told me to kill myself. I mean…

It’s a scary place. I’m sorry for anyone who suffers in any way as a result. Thank you for bringing attention to this very sad phenomenon with your powerful, sensitive writing.
