Is this my interface or yours?

I think another distinction that could be made is to use “you” when it’s an app or software serving up content (“your songs” on Spotify), and “me” when it’s directly related to the system (“my files” on this specific laptop).

An app is like a business that you go to that is serving “you.” By opening the app you are reaching out to them. They remember you and are holding onto your content for you.

My computer—or phone or tablet—is an extension of me, it’s physically present and part of me. Anything that seems to exist directly on it—my files, photos, music, apps—are mine and I am holding onto them myself.
