The U.S. criminal justice system is described as a network of government agencies and institutions, including law enforcement, court systems, and correctional institutions. In theory, it is a system based on the principles of law and order, where all are treated equally under the law and justice prevails. Unfortunately, the current system has become innately problematic for specific populations, especially for black American’s who are more likely to experience burdens and less likely to receive benefits in all aspects of U.S. Society.
