The tone of the article feels so condescending. I agree with the message that cash/monetary donations are more useful, but I also feel like there is also a need for used material donations. Plus it is far more ecological to use what we’ve already made on this planet. If 3000 displaced households need to buy brand new toasters, wardrobes, kitchen goods, furniture, that is a heck of a lot of resources and energy. So many of us already have an excess of stuff and it would be far more practical to share those items instead of having everyone buy brand new.
