I, Racist
John Metta

It is extremely on point and beautifully poignant, but I’m not racist. I believe in People… People as a whole. I don’t believe these horrible people are diseased, they are just down-right evil. I live in Missouri. Things are extremely bad here. My color doesn’t matter. I know what’s expected of me, but having grown up as a Military Brat i tend to speak my mind and treat people as they treat me. I watched for weeks as one of our towns was ripped apart and a Mother grieved for her baby boy. I wouldn’t for all the world wish i were her. I didn’t see color, i saw a Mother. There were a few of us who took a lot of bs over standing for that family. No matter what that child did NOT or may have done, there was NO REASON for him to die or a Mother to lose her son. I see things like this on a daily. The world is so ugly that most of the time just hide inside my home. I don’t want to be a part of this BIGGER picture. I wasn’t raised like this. I will continue to take the degradation as long as i have to, no skin of my back. I’m mixed Native, my children- mixed native and…. I don’t hate anyone. The world only saddens me. Those who fight over pieces of cloth are missing the point, i know- i’ve caught A LOT of bs over that online too. I get a mess for standing up for things i believe in because i’m not this enough or that enough or white enough or black or whatever, but i really don’t care. At the end of the day it’s all about being a human being and having heart. ❤
