New Year, New Office

With the New Year upon us many find themselves looking for ways they can improve things. It may be that extra trip to the gym, or perhaps cutting back on the chocolate and alcohol for a few weeks. Generally speaking the things we tend to focus on are personal ones — but what about the workplace? With most of us spending at least one third of our day at work it is worth spending some time thinking how the work environment can be improved.
While moving office may be one way to go, there are other less drastic, and more cost effective solutions for sprucing the place up a bit whilst still delivering a huge impact. Perhaps you just need to seek office supplies in Redditch.

First Impressions

We all know that first impressions count, and that’s why your reception area is vitally important when it comes to delivering your brand and personal image. Every office needs a reception and waiting area that is clean, smart and reflects who you are and what you stand for.
It’s important to spend time thinking about how to create the impact you are looking for — whether it is through the use of open planning to create a spacious environment, or something more sleek and classic. Perhaps you like the idea of the traditional feel of wood, surrounded by leather sofas and armchairs for visitors to relax in while they wait to be seen.

Screens

If you find that your business has expanded and you need to find ways to separate certain sections of your office from other ones then screens may be the ideal solution. Instead of moving office, or putting up divisive walls that can get in the way of creativity or even dampen morale, screens offer an affordable and if necessary, temporary, alternative to the division of space.
Using the right style and colour of the screen can also help create a pleasant and vibrant atmosphere within the work environment. You may consider having a few screens to create a time out area where people can sit to think and reflect, perhaps have a few minutes away from the pressures of the phone, rather than leaving the floor to go to the canteen.

Seating

As mentioned above, we spend a lot of time at work, so it is vitally important that we are comfortable whilst we are. Therefore the humble office chair should never be underestimated.
Employers should also be mindful of the fact that seating should afford the best possible opportunity for good posture, to avoid the possibility of injury occurring. It is important to take ergonomics into account when looking at furniture for staff, and is often wise to speak to an expert who can perform an assessment to assist you in this regard.
