We hear it all the time, “Oh, I don’t have the time to exercise. I got too much to do.”. Excuses, excuses. But that’s not your problem, it’s everyone’s problem. The truth is, everyone make those excuses all the time. Even ME!

Here’s some quick tips that you can do to fit fitness in your everyday life:

1. Grab a partner and schedule a time to exercise together.

When you have someone to work out with, you’re less likely to bail. This way you can keep each other motivated and disciplined. Nobody wants to exercise by themselves. It’s BO-OOORING!

2. Ditch your car. Take transit, bike or walk instead.

I know. Everything is easier with a car, but without one, you don’t have to be stuck in traffic jams ever again. Think of other modes of transportation. In my city (I live in Vancouver), people often take the transit to go to work. Some people who live closer to the downtown core like to bike to work. Especially if you’re working in the downtown area, consider walking to grab lunch from your nearby restaurants.

3. Get up and stretch at your desk.

Have a desk job that requires you sitting at the desk for eight hours a day? You have the right to get up and stretch whenever you want. Don’t let your manager or boss tell you that you can’t. In fact, you should be getting up to walk around every 30 minutes. Sitting for a long period of time can be bad for your back and neck.

4. Try juicing.

Juicing help cleanse your body from all the toxins. It’s a good way to get a concentration of all the nutrients you need to help you start the day. There’s many juicing recipes out there, so pick a few that you like and stick with them. My favourite is a combination of four carrots, half an apple and ginger to taste. This helps detox all the toxins from my skin.

5. Don’t eat garbage.

Try to keep a healthy diet. I’m not saying to eat less or to stay away from fatty food, but keep a balance diet. You’re allow to have a day or two to spoil yourself. Just don’t over do it. Guys, eat your vegetables! Ladies, it’s okay to have some meat.

Now what? What’s the next step?

Stop being lazy and make excuses for not exercising! Just do it. Pick one of the five and make it into a habit. It’s impossible to do it all, so just pick ONE.

Happy exercising and share your thoughts!
