Women Take On More Credit Card Debt After “Extraordinary Medical Expenses” Than Men Do

I also have a feeling some of that medical debt is from visiting various providers until we find one who believes us and/or can appropriately diagnose what’s going on, as women’s health issues have only been “properly” studied in the last generation or so as more women have become doctors themselves. It’s also curious that they are making a lot of assumptions based on who owns the account, given that single mothers would be responsible for their children’s medical expenses, but wouldn’t have minors listed as account holders.
