I don’t think that there’s anyone in SF who hasn’t had unkind thoughts when accosted by one of our city’s less than mentally healthy homeless folks (especially if they are not the first person to do that to you that day). But listening to the monster storm rage on Wednesday night, where I wasn’t sure my windows in my perfectly good apartment were going to hold, I couldn’t help but think of those in the “tent cities” around this city who were trying to brave the weather in FAR less luxurious conditions and hope they were faring okay (and donated accordingly to our city’s homeless charities). Someone who lacks this empathy scares way more than the guy talking to himself on my bus during my morning commute.
