By lumping the judeo christian tradition into one entity the author does a disservice to the specific religion that has endowed his new community with an especially vibrant quality of life that appears to be missing from former enclaves of blue state leftism.

The objectivist philosophy of Rand is incredibly compatible with mormonism because both believe that personal joy is the ultimate human achievement.

No religion does a better job of articulating this reality than The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

And no group in America has a higher reverence for the founding documents of America than the Mormons of Utah.

The Doctrine and Covenants Section 101:77–80 explicitly defines who was the author of The Constitution of The United States of America.

QUOTE:

77 “According to the laws and constitution of the people, which I have suffered to be established, and should be maintained for the rights and protection of all flesh, according to just and holy principles;

78 That every man may act in doctrine and principle pertaining to futurity, according to the moral agency which I have given unto him, that every man may be accountable for his own sins in the day of judgment.

79 Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in bondage one to another.

80 And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood.”

Heavenly Father

Ayn Rand understood the glory of humanity and wrote her books to promote the ideal egalitarian society that was based on reason and freedom.

Her limiting belief was an unwillingness to entertain the idea that men and women were designed in the image of their Heavenly Parents and embedded in each soul is the potential to advance to godhood through exaltation and the eternal salvation provided through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

By denying the existence of a loving Father in Heaven, the author and Rand limit the potentially perfected society envisioned by Atlas Shrugged to a group of self actualized elites who have so evolved in their personal achievements they have no need for outside help in the form of a Savior.

This too is the fatal flaw of the new age movement and it is in fact a limiting belief. On our own, human beings tend to be quite selfish and only able to accomplish a certain level of achievement. But as a covenant bound people who enter into a religious circle where we promise to “mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort”, which is literally the baptismal covenant relationship mormons enter into when we get baptized, amazing achievements can be actualized with group efforts towards a common goal.

Those souls who deny a belief in God and reject the notion that pure religion is defined by care for widows and orphans again limit the possibility of a perfected human society.

Do not assume that care for the poor is a nod to welfare state solutions.

God, in his wisdom has outlined the laws of who should provide for who in the scriptures and although the left confidently claims Jesus was a socialist and would approve of the american welfare state, Jesus himself understood that their would be vast inequalities between people on the earth and provided the laws and ordinances that should govern all human interactions in the most ideal way.

As for Trump being a leftist, he governs as the most conservative president since Reagan and has set in place those economic policies that will free America from the tentacles of global entities that have been looting the treasury and American Taxpayers for decades.

His understanding of basic economic principles is the ultimate evidence of his conservatism and his willingness to shrug off the scorn of the economic pick pockets puts him on an equal footing with Galt behavior.

It is not what we say that defines us. It is what we do.

Ted Cruz says all the right things to tickle conservative ears, but his voting behavior has been less than stellar on many issues of note to conservatives.

I anticipate Trumps passion for economic solvency and his willingness to free America from the tentacles of various economic agreements (despite the howling from the moneyed class) to lay the foundation for a complete renewal of the American Experiment.

If that isn’t conservative, I don’t know what is.
