For its part, the Defense Department’s Science Board concluded in a 2004 report that “Muslims do not ‘hate our freedom,’ but rather, they hate our policies. The overwhelming majority voice their objections to what they see as one-sided support in favor of Israel and against Palestinian rights, and the longstanding, even increasing support for what Muslims collectively see as tyrannies, most notably Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Pakistan, and the Gulf states.”

The countries around the world who hate us, regardless of religious ideology, hate the US because we talk about freedom and democracy, but continually deny it to others. As decades worth of CIA-orchestrated coups prove, America is totally in favor of democracy, so long as whoever’s in charge does exactly as we say.

Ever hear of Operation Ajax of 1953? Short version: we tried regime change in Iran and it’s largely the reason we’re in this mess to begin with.
