Hi William, very much enjoying your posts.
An equally strong contender for such a festival has got to be Moana (2016). Moana is one powerful role model — willful, tenacious, and adventurous — and it is she, rather than fellow traveller Maui, who saves the day. One of the most refreshing aspects of this movie is that the plot does not revolve around a love interest. Rather it speaks to bigger issues of community, culture and collectivism, Pacifica style.
