When we told investors about Winnie, some told us they didn’t understand why tools for parents were needed, after all, parents had survived for centuries without them.
This line of thinking is a huge problem — and not just in the VC world. I had these same sorts of thoughts when I was about to become a dad for the first time, and then I couldn’t figure out why I felt so ill equipped for parenthood after my son was born.
The fact that I was overlooking is, even though people have been raising children for thousands of years, they haven’t been raising them in our modern world. Things are different now than they were when our parents were raising us.
I’m glad to see you taking this on. Here’s hoping other startups pop up in your footsteps — !
