I’ve never seen such a case — are there really people that cut off their male genitals, but still dress in male pants, male shirt, male shoes, with no makeup? Are there really people who get top surgery, but still dress in dresses, high heels, and makeup? When you say “plenty”, do you mean simply “more than one on the planet”?
Forgive my skepticism, but it seems that the entire concept of “passing” is integral to the transexual identity — they want not only to modify their bodies, but to have others validate that modification by treating them as if they were naturally the opposite sex. If all they wanted to do was modify their bodies, like getting a boob job, or a face lift, and didn’t care about what other people thought, then there seems like there’s no reason for any transsexual to present as their preferred physical sex. Modify your body however you want, but don’t bother presenting any differently than your natural sex. When people ask, just tell them, “well, I was just really uncomfortable with my genitals, so I had them cut off — I’m still a guy, just one without genitals”.
