How I Talk to White People About Racism
Clay Rivers

Awesome article. I have an honest question that I have been processing lately. Based on your view of prejudice. How can a white person avoid becoming prejudice when they personally as well as those close to them have been victims of a number of violent crimes solely at the hands of black men? For instance in my immediate family and my own life we have experienced solely at the hands of black men:

  • Rape
  • Multiple thefts
  • Mugging
  • Physical abuse
  • Assault

I ask this because I recognize that my natural disposition towards young black men is one where I generally assume guilt and suspicion if they are not clean cut and or (for lack of a better term) white in the manner of their speech.

Honeslty sole seeking here. Thanks for any helpful response.
