Is “Good Enough” Really Good Enough For Your Life, Career, And Relationships?

It all depends on the definition of “good enough”. In the past I had a job which was initially great, but morphed into a “good enough” job by virtue of a decision to NOT try to progress up the corporate ladder. But it did allow me to work from home and spend way more time with my kids than a train-commuting job which would have paid more. Time I can never have again with my now-late-teenage children.

But there’s also the Pareto aspect. At what point do you draw the line? If the last 10% will take 90% of the effort, what alternatives are there for that effort that could achieve other tasks? At what point does the extra effort not pay off, and is better channeled on another task?

Everyone has a different answer, I expect
