User eXperience Design Project Retrospective

Embarking on a new journey with General Assembly (Singapore), taking on a User eXperience Design Immersive programme, i was soon on my way to the first project.

The topic given was Shopping, specifically Online Shopping, with my partner Camillia, starting off the initial issue. She had trouble searching for discount codes to online shopping websites, even though the websites would regularly email her on promotions and discounts. She had to plough through her emails when she needed the codes, and had no way to validate the codes, until checkout. The same issue was faced with searching websites for discount codes.

User Interview

Based on what I’ve learnt, applying the double diamond approach, i started off by surveying 6 participants, on the topic.

Using the user’s inputs, i proceeded to do up an Affinity Map, to sort the results and identify user trends, patterns and pain points.

Keeping in mind to stick to the process, I was then able to discover user insights, mainly:

‣users shop online because its cheaper ($$$)
‣users shop online on web-stores which carry multiple brands
