Thank you for your articulate and intelligent response to what is happening.
As an older (I suspect!) and perhaps mre definitively Zionist UK Jew, my question to those currently — and in some cases understandably ‘in denial’ — is this.
After all the revelations about Corbyn — and most particularly the most recent quote directed at ‘British Zionists’ which for avoidance of doubt means you, me, and 90%+ of the UK Jewish Community — I feel very very disturbed and stressed that a major UK Party has a leader who thinks we need to be ‘taught a lesson’. Those words were full of arrogance and menace, and if they weren’t as bad as Enoch Powell’s — which they probably weren’t — they were very comparable in the feelings they arouse in the minority that they were aimed at.
The possibility that this man and his mindset could be the Prime Minister of this country fills me with fear and horror.
And if people on the Left of Labour today simply reject those feelings and call them a ‘joke’ then they are simply part of a much larger, scarier situation.
