Do It Your Own Way
Because the mold is simply not for everybody

The internet is chock full of articles claiming that the key to success lies in copying certain habits that are practiced by the likes of Bill Gates and Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
That if you just change your morning routine, you can become the next big entrepreneur.
That the cure for cancer could be just within your ability to conceive if you would simply cut out enough carbs and wake up at just right moment before sunrise and go to bed at 9:36pm sharp.
But here is the thing about all of that: it is simply not true.
This is not to say that there is not some merit to waking up earlier and instead of reading the paper while having a bowl of oatmeal, you just have the bowl of oatmeal and practice mindful eating.
And that you should read the paper separate from all other activities and sounds to aid in retention of information.
But these practices, while worthwhile in themselves, will not make you a more successful person. You will not change the world simply because you wake up earlier and quietly eat your oatmeal.
Rather, what will make you successful is living your life in the way that comes most natural to you, wherever you happen to find yourself.
I hesitate to say this, at the risk of sounding like the very thing I am speaking against, but really the only key to your own personal success is embracing the everyday mystery that is your life and seeking that with your whole being.

When it comes down to it, your life is yours to live. Following someone else’s routine just simply may not be for you. Or it may not even work for you.
If you work third shift in a factory, it would do you little good to go to bed at 9:36pm because you should be preparing to head to work at about that time.
The mold simply does not work for you.
And that is perfectly fine. There is no set standard that will instantly make you successful. It simply does not exist.
So instead of trying to be like someone else, be you and embrace every new day as your chance to stand out as the person that you are designed to be. If you are following your own path, and not the path that someone else has laid out for you, success will come.
