This is a confusing topic within the body of Christ due to different interpretations and understandings of scripture. I pray that during this study you will understand the importance of contextual interpretation of hermeneutics.

We need “believers” who will not compromise Gods law and the faith of Jesus. What’s sad is we get a lot of imbalanced teaching on one subject of scripture verses multiple perspectives. Like for instance your Church may teach heavily on love and grace, while another teaches more on holiness and the fear of God.

Are either one wrong? Not necessarily until you idolize one above another, for instance you preach only on grace. While neglecting holiness, judgment, Hell, fear of God, Gods law, see you get my point? We must teach all of Gods word, not just the popular stuff that fills your pews, but also on topics that make people leave your Church.

Which a lot of Pastors avoid to not offend people. What’s sad, is the fact their more concerned about numbers instead of genuine converts. Jesus preached a message that eliminated those who really weren’t disciples of Jesus they were just believers.

1 Chronicles 21:1 KJV [1] And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
John 6:66–67 KJV[66] From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. [67] Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

Which you will understand what I mean by that towards the end. Its simply the fact that many Christians want to call Jesus Savior, but never make him Lord of there life. Its basically saying Jesus save me from hell, but I really don’t want to sacrifice my life to follow you, I want to do my own thing.

Which if this is you reading this, I would blatantly say your in sin and need to repent. Remember Jesus’s disciples they literally gave their life for God. As a living sacrifice they became martyrs for God out of love for Jesus. Just think about how the typical American mindset, how it contradicts holy scripture.

Yeah we want Jesus to save us from hell but we really don’t want to follow him whole heartedly, without turning back. Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites.

Isaiah 29:13 KJV [13] Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men

See we cannot bring our agenda into scripture, we must bring scripture into our world.

Do you remember the words of Jesus? When he said unless your willing to forsake everything you cannot be a devoted follower of Christ. Carefully read the words of Jesus in this next verse.

Luke 9:57–62 KJV [57] And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. [58] And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. [59] And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. [60] Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. [61] And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. [62] And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

We must be willing to abandon ourselves for the sake of the gospel. Even at the expense of our own lives, for the sake of spreading the gospel! Are you willing to do that? If not, Jesus truly is not your Lord but just your savior understand my point? The difference between believers and disciples of God is believers only make Jesus Savior but not Lord, unlike the disciples who make him both and are true followers.

Luke 9:23–27 KJV [23] And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. [24] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. [25] For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? [26] For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels. [27] But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

Thus may be the first time you have heard this, due to the fact your Pastor ignores this type of teaching because it’s not beneficial for him. A majority of the time we leave out the words of Jesus. Simply because they don’t fit our theology. Instead of the Bible changing our theology we use our theology to change the context of scripture.

Do you recall the words of Peter? I do, they burn in my heart like a fire that’s unquenchable.

2 Peter 3:15–17 KJV [15] And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; [16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. [17] Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Truth, we must not twist scripture for our own interpretation, but rather let the word of God twist our misinterpretation of scripture. “Sola scriptura”. Scripture alone.

The first century Christians were sold out for Christ. Now days we have immature adults(Pastors), raising lawless teens(anomia-body of Christ the church). Who would rather sit at home watching TV than seriously follow Christ. This is meant to convict your conscience. Ask yourself do you truly follow God or is he just a part of your life until he interferes with your freedom.

What I mean by that is this, is that you would rather use your freedom to not to serve Christ, but want Jesus who sacrificed his freedom to save our souls from hell to save you? See how shallow and see through we are at times in our life and we wonder why we hardly impact anyone for Christ, maybe it’s due to the fact of the level of our devotion to following him.

Everything Jesus did for us was out of divine love. Yet we can’t even serve in the church much alone be missionaries to a foreign country. Why? Because it interferes with our daily plans. Really and you claim to be a Christian, since when did your plans dictate Gods plan for your life?

Romans 5:8 KJV [8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 2:4 KJV [4] Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

We cannot add God into our lives he must be number one! The very source of all existence and life. Understand I’m writing this to you under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I’m just as guilty as you talking about these convictions. Your not alone! But we must genuinely repent and truly trust in God for our salvation.

Hebrews 12:5–8 KJV [5] And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: [6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. [7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? [8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

We must devote our lives to following Jesus!

Matthew 4:17–19 KJV [17] From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. [18] And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. [19] And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Without Jesus we wouldn’t even have a New Covenant with God, grounded on forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus.

1 John 1:7,9 KJV [7] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Proverbs 28:13 KJV [13] He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

The New Covenant was prophesied by Jeremiah in the OT, in Chapter 31:31. Which Jesus fulfilled in the NT through his sinless obedience to Gods commandments.

We read this in Hebrews.

Hebrews 8:8 KJV [8] For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

A Covenant that does not expire the moral laws of God, but includes them. Just because we are under the New Covenant doesn’t mean we are free from obedience to Gods law.

Matthew 5:17–19 KJV [17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. [18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. [19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them , the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

God’s laws are eternal because they define his moral perfection and ascribed to us the things he hates(which is sin). Which gives us wisdom to not trespass out of love for God and our neighbors. Like a man being faithful to his spouse. Same with God.

This New Covenant did not change anything in scripture except for how we are justified and made righteous apart from the law, through the finished work of Christ on the cross. Through faith in him, in his sacrifice.

Hebrews 9:22 KJV [22] And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Leviticus 17:11 KJV [11] For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Without the sacrificial system, their could absolutely be no atonement for unrighteousness.

Exodus 20:24 KJV [24] An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

John 1:29 KJV [29] The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Without the shedding of Jesus blood on the Cross we would all be condemned to hell without redemption.

Isaiah 59:2 KJV [2] But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

We must trust in God alone for our redemption through Jesus’s holy blood. We must take our faith seriously because Jesus took us seriously at the cross over 2,000 years ago.

Love dies for those whom are loved. Jesus died for you even if you never would believe in him or receive him in your life. That my friends is pure love. It’s like a soldier sacrificing his life to protect a comrade he hates. Not that Jesus hates you, it’s the fact that he loved you so much he still sacrificed his life on behalf of your salvation even of, your rejection of him.

We learn how to love unconditionally through the actions of Christ. We must truly walk out our salvation in fear and trembling before a Holy God. Out of respect and honor for all he has done on our behalf. Unmerited favor.

If you claim to love God, ask yourself this one question, “but do you really follow him”. Or just merely acknowledge his existence but never follow him despite the pain and rejection of society. Jesus said himself that you will be hated for His names sake.

Matthew 10:22 KJV [22] And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

I pray this has truly been a blessing to you and opened your eyes even more to see the truth of Jesus. May we all repent and reevaluate our direction that we follow in the foot steps of Christ the Anointed Messiah. God bless.

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
