One of the biggest concerns for the SEO has always been about getting links to the site. With the recent changes in algorithms of Google, the emphasis has been put on the content. You have to make sure that your content is good enough to convince your users. And what’s more natural here is that people normally want to share or like to link to the content which has some value for them. So, it is now all about creating the content which can attract links for you.

The question is how can you create such content? Different experts have different things to say in this regard but it doesn’t mean one of them needs to be true. In fact, this topic has so many dimensions that everything they say may be accurate without contradictions.

Talking about the types of content that can attract links, a few ones include:

  • Comparison
  • Images
  • Videos
  • Charts and graphs
  • Text

According to an expert, Alli Brenner, one of the great ways to attract links is to use images. Here, you can use social media platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook to get your images propagated. Although the links of these images are not nofollow, you will be able to spread awareness, and you are going to get good response from the audience if your intent is to spread awareness. You can make it easier for the people to share your content by providing share buttons. Moreover, you can reach out to the bloggers in order to get your content shared.

Another expert, Lisa Barone, suggests that emotion doesn’t have to focus on attracting links. Instead, good content is usually about sparking emotions. Therefore, the quality of content, the style of its presentation and the channel through which it is being presented are the important traits to be kept in consideration. a few types of content are worth mentioning in this context.

  • The first type refers to the evergreen content. This is the type of content which remains useful no matter how old it is. How-to articles, guides, lists, explainers, FAQs, images, video and infographics are the types of content that remain useful almost forever.
  • Another type of content is the video. The matter of fact is that video is generally not being used to its true potential. Still, it has delivered in a way no other type of content can.
  • Third type to talk about, according to Barone, is the data. Now, data is everywhere. You can get it from the TV or digital ads, from newspapers and from the books you read. And when it comes to using data from a particular website in order to elaborate a point, the user has to cite data from that website. This citation is what can help you get your link shared.

All in all, the approach of building content needs to be natural because you are out there to convince people, not search engines. And since you have a website through which you are displaying the content, you are surely going to get links because this is the way internet works. You will just have to focus on quality when it comes to creation of content.
