Well it seems that if we purposes that our brains are similar to a hard drive on our computer, and that memories are recorded by activating neuron patterns.
Just as the hard drive on our computers only needs to rewrite it self when there is changes.
Perhaps the dark neurons are the portions of mind that retain the core beliefs, and need not be activated unless core beliefs change.
