Setting Up a URP Project
A URP project is used to optimize graphics for many differrent platforms. To set up a project for URP is to create a new project and select 3D (URP).
Name Your project and choose where to save the project.
If you have already started a project that you want to use in URP rendering, It is very easy to switch. Exporting a scenes of an existing project to be able to import into the new project is the best way to get a project into URP.
Exporting is easy, all you have to do is right click the scene in the project window and select export package and then choose where to save the package.
After the export is done then from your new project you can import the package. Right click the folder where you want it in the project window and click import package. Then navigate to your file and select it then just import the package.
Now when you open your scene it may look completely purple. This is because of a shader issue from the scene and assets being made in the standard pipeline.
If this is the case you can change this pretty easily. If you click the window menu item and go to rendering then to render pipeline converter. The default option is to convert to 2d URP which should be changed to built-in to URP. After changing this you have to upgrade the materials. Checking the box then clicking initialize then it will list all the assets it will change. To finish up then, all you have to do is click convert assets.
After the conversion your assets should all show their original colors.
