Monitoring: How Many Minutes Have I Listened To Spotify

1. Through Spotify:

  • Spotify Wrapped: If it’s near the end of the year, Spotify releases a “Wrapped” feature that summarizes your listening habits for the past year, including total listening time. This is a fun and interactive way to see your top artists, genres, and even how many “audio minutes” you racked up.

Recently Played: While Spotify doesn’t show total listening time, you can get a rough idea by looking at your “Recently Played” list. Each song has its duration listed, so you can add them up to estimate your listening time for a specific period. This method is less accurate but can be helpful for a quick estimate.

2. Third-party apps:

  • Spotistats: This app connects to your Spotify account and provides detailed listening insights, including total listening time across all time, as well as by artist, genre, and more. It’s a great option for getting a comprehensive overview of your listening habits.

Stats.fm: Similar to Spotistats, this app analyzes your Spotify listening data and presents it in a visually appealing way, including your overall listening time. It’s another user-friendly option with additional features like mood and energy level analysis of your music choices.

3. Request your listening data from Spotify:

  • You can request your complete listening history from Spotify in JSON format. This data can be imported into third-party apps or analyzed manually to calculate your total listening time. This method is more involved but gives you the most control over your data.

Additional tips:

  • If you use a smart speaker or other device to listen to Spotify, some of them may track your listening time and make it available through their own apps or dashboards. For example, Google Home devices can show you your Spotify listening time in the Google Home app.
  • Some fitness trackers and smartwatches integrate with Spotify and can show you how much time you spend listening to music during your workouts. For instance, Fitbit devices can display your Spotify listening time on the device itself or in the Fitbit app.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
