Why You Can’t Get a Ticket to the NBA Finals …

Limiting transferrabilty of a ticket makes almost no sense. If you think of why do the promoters and artists sell the tickets to brokers in the first place. It’s done to mitigate down side risk for an event with a large capital outlay. Limiting transferability limits the risk to vendors and artists but transfers the risk to individuals. That’s not to say the system isn’t currently rigged but it does maximize revenue. How else could an artists appearance fee be greater than the face value of all tickets? Other models would result in less $$ to the artists and vendors or potentially fewer fans attending. Which has the same effect.
